AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCE, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, VOLUME II, CHAPTER 55, ARTICLE V, UTILITY TAPS
AND CONNECTIONS, SECTION 55-70, SUBSECTION 5A AND 5B,
AS SET FORTH IN ORDINANCE NO. 10083, SO AS TO CHANGE
THE FEE FOR METER MOVES, BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE
CITY LIMITS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING A
SEVERANCE CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the cost of performing meter moves has increased due to
inflation since the existing fee of $10.00 was established in January, 1971.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 5-70 of the Code of Ordinances, 1976,
as amended, and particularly, as amended by Ordinance No. 10083 passed and
approved ivn January of 1971, be and the same is hereby amended so as to
provide a new fee for meter moves as follows:
"Section 55-70
5. Fee Schedule
A. Inside City Limits Street Fee Easement Fee
(1) Gas - Residential, 1- and
2 -family dwelling None None
Commercial 1" to 1-1/4"

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
beginning August 12, 1981.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word,
or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.

SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, which publication shall contain
the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
