AMENDING SECTION 21-46 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCE, CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, SO AS TO PROVIDE AN IN-
CREASE IN THE FEES FOR SOLID WASTE PERMITS; PROVIDING
FOR REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 21-46 of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Corpus Christi, 1976 revision, be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 21-46. Fees for solid waste permits.
(a) The fee for a solid waste permit shall be sixty dollars ($60.00)
per vehicle, payable to the city at the time of issuance of the solid waste
permit, except as provided herein.
(b) The fee for a solid waste permit shall be one hundred and twenty
dollars ($120.00), payable to the city at the time of issuance of the solid waste
permit, for any vehicle which is to be used to convey or transport garbage or
trash from outside of the city to any disposal site of the city sanitation division."
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
shall be and are hereby repealed to the extent of conflict herewith.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall
not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council
that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision
hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 4. The rate established by this ordinance shall be effective
immediately following its passage.
SECTION 5. Publication shall be made one time in the official publica-
tion of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the captain of this ordinance,
stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
