AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING
SECTION 24-2 SO AS TO HEREAFTER PROVIDE THAT THE
THREE YOUTH MEMBERS OF THE HUMAN RELATIONS COM-
MISSION MUST NOT BE MORE THAN 20 YEARS OF AGE;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi,
1976 Revision, as amended, be amended by amending Section 24-2, Human
Relations Commission --Established; com.osition; a..ointment, term and
com ensation of members; filling vacancies, the third sentence thereof,
said amended sentence to hereafter read as follows: "Three (3) of these
twelve (12) members will each serve a term of one (1) year, unstaggered,
and shall not be more than twenty (20) years of age at time of appointment."
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members; copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the public
need for the above amendment as soon as possible, such finding of an emer-
gency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first
reading as an emergency measure theyy

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it 4
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
