AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING
ARTICLE II, MARINA, SECTION 12-61, RATES AND
RENTAL FEES FOR USE OF SLIPS AND DOCK SPACE
SCHEDULE AND REGULATIONS BY ADDING A RATE FOR
COMMERCIAL FISHING BOATS AT SEVEN CENTS PER
SQUARE FOOT; AND REPEALING SUBPARAGRAPH "H" AS
TO THE MONTHLY RATE FOR CHARTER BOAT SLIPS; PRO-
VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, 1976
Revision, as amended, Article II, Marina, Section 12-61, Rates and Rental
Fees for Use of Slips and Dock Space - Schedule and Regulations, paragraph
2 is hereby amended by adding the words:
"The monthly rate for commercial fishing boats shall be seven
cents per square foot" so that paragraph 2 shall henceforth read as follows:
"(2) The monthly rate and rental fee for boat slips in the Corpus
Christi Marina shall be five (50 per square foot per month, determined by
multiplying the rate times the square foot of the slip. The minimum rate
for all slips less than 430 square feet shall be $21.50. A limited amount
of tap water is included in this rate. The monthly rate for charter boat
slips is established at 2-1/2 times the standard rate, determined by multi-
plying the standard rate by 2-1/2 times and then multiplying the resultant
rate times the square foot of the slip assigned. The monthly rate for
commercial fishing boats shall be seven cents per square foot. Ten Dollars
($10.00) per month additional charge shall be placed on slips rented to
parties who do not maintain a primary permanent residence in the City. In
addition, an electricity surcharge will be added to the monthly charge
determined by the length of craft within a slip, as follows:
$1.00 for craft up to twenty {20) feet in length
$3.50 for craft between twenty (20) and thirty (30) feet in length
$8.50 for craft between thirty (30) and forty (40) feet in length
$17.00 for craft over forty (40) feet in length;

Meters shall be installed by the City to determine if the $17.00 sur-
charge is adequate; where an increase in service above $17.00 exists,
actual usage will be applied. In addition, Charter Boat tenants shall
obtain their own source of electricity and, at their own expense, make
any connections required by the power company and pay for such usage
of electricity."
SECTION 2. Section 12-61 of the same Code is further amended
by repealing subparagraph "h" of paragraph 2 as to the monthly rate for
Charter boat slips.
SECTION 3. All ordinances or part of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivi-
sion, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held
invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent
jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite
intent of the City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect
for its purpose.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be effective from and after
September 1, 1981.
SECTION 6. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of
this ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
