HomeMy WebLinkAbout16485 ORD - 08/26/1981.sp;8/10/81;lst AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 57, VEHICLES FOR HIRE, ARTICLE III, AIRPORT LIMOUSINE SERVICE, SECTION 57-152, ZONES AND FARES, AND AMENDING THE ORDINANCE NO. 13130, WHICH AUTHORIZED FRANCHISE WITH THE AIRPORT LIMOUSINE SER- VICE, AS AMENDED, SO AS TO PROVIDE A NEW SCHEDULE OF FARES FOR ZONES 1 THROUGH 4; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi City Code, as amended, be amended by amending Chapter 57, VEHICLES FOR HIRE, Article III, AIRPORT LIMOUSINE SERVICE, Section 57-152, Zones and fares, and that Ordinance No. 13130, which authorized franchise with the Airport Limousine Service, as amended, be amended so as to provide a new schedule of fares for Zones 1 through 4, reading as follows: "ZONE 1 - All of the area of the City bounded on the north by the centerline of the Navigation District Ship Channel extend- ing from a western boundary to be known as Corn Products Road and FM Road 763, to the centerline of the Harbor Bridge and continuing on along the western edge of the north traffic lane of U.S. Highway 181 to the shore of Nueces Bay; and bounded an the south by a line beginning at the shore of Corpus Christi Bay where Morgan Street extended would meet the shoreline of Corpus Christi Bay, and continuing westward along the center- line of Morgan Street and Old Brownsville Road to the City Limits - $4.50 ZONE 2 EAST - All of that area of the City lying North of Navigaiton District Ship Channel and West of the Western edge of the Northbound traffic lane of U.S. Highway 181 extending Northward from the centerline of said Navigation District Ship Channel to the edge of Nueces Bay; and including all that area south of the south line of Zone 1 SEP 27 1984 MICROFILMED 16485 .sp;8/10/81;lst and lying North and West of Doddridge Street and Weber Road within the City Limits - $4.50; ZONE 2 WEST - All the area within the City lying West of the FM Road 763 - Corn Products Road and East of Violet Road - $5.25 ZONE 3 EAST - All of the area within the City of Corpus Christi lying South and East of Doddridge Street and Weber Road and West of Oso Creek - $7.50 ZONE 3 WEST - All of the area lying between Violet Road and the West City Limits of Corpus Christi - $7.50 ZONE 4 - University of Corpus Christi Island and all the area lying South of Oso Creek to the southern limits of the City, which in general includes Flour Bluff and the Naval Air Station - $10.50 with a maximum of $19.00 per trip to or from the Naval Air Station. Grantee may limit his pick-up on the Naval Air Station to one point. Any fare change cannot be made without the prior approval of the City of Corpus Christi, and any request for such change must be based upon new cost factors and not factors that existed at the time of execution of this con- tract. Fares to and from points outside of the City to and from the Air- port will pay the Franchise Fee based on the fare charged in Zone 1." SECTION 2. The effective date for the above schedule of fares is August 29, 1981 SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, word, phrase or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 4. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, which publication shall contain the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
