HomeMy WebLinkAbout16493 ORD - 08/26/1981sp;8/26/81;2d r -4 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SECHRIST-HALL COMPANY FOR REPAIR TO THE ROOF OF THE MEMORIAL COLISEUM DAMAGED BY HURRICANE ALLEN; AUTHORIZING A FUND TRANSFER OF $100,000 FROM THE NO. 126 REVENUE SHARING FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND RESERVE 901-521.99 CODE 499, AND A FUND TRANSFER OF $190,000 FROM THE NO. 102 GENERAL FUND RESERVE 901- 521.99 COLISEUM AND EXPOSITION HALL (255-513.31, CODE 502); APPROPRIATING $190,000 OUT OF THE NO. 102 GENERAL FUND RESERVE OF WHICH $181,671 IS FOR CON- TRACT AWARD TO SECHRIST-HALL COMPANY AND $8329 IS FOR ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING, LEGAL ADVERTISING, AND CONTINGENCIES AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Sechrist-Hall Company for repair to the roof of the Memorial Coliseum damaged by Hurricane Allen, all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Sechrist-Hall Company opened on the 5th day of August, 1981, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 2. That there is hereby authorized a fund transfer of $100,000 from the No. 126 Revenue Sharing Fund to the General Fund Reserve 901-521.99 Code 499 and a fund transfer of $190,000 from the No. 102 General Fund Reserve 901-521.99 Coliseum and Exposition Hall (255-513.31, Code 502). SECTION 3. That there is hereby appropriated $190,000 out of the No. 102 General Fund Reserve of which $181,671 is for contract award to Sechrist-Hall Company and $8329 is for additional engineering, legal adver- tising and contingencies and incidental expenses. SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to public con- venience and necessity of the aforesaid repairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consider- ation and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings 1_6193 MICROFILMED SEP 2 71984 r so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this ,24 day of August, 1981.
