AN ORDINANCE
SETTING PUBLIC HEARINGS ON PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF AREAS
ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AS MORE FULLY
DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS AND MAPS ON FILE IN THE
OFFICE OF THE CITY SECRETARY, AND MADE A PART HEREOF BY
REFERENCE THE SAME AS IF COPIED VERBATIM HEREIN, SUCH
HEARINGS TO BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 15 AND 17, 1981, AT THE
TIMES AND MEETING PLACES DESIGNATED HEREIN IN THE AREA
PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND ON SEPTEMBER 16, 1981, AT
4:00 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS AT CITY HALL, TO
PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR INTERESTED PERSONS TO BE HEARD
AND TO MAKE AVAILABLE TO SUCH PERSONS FOR INSPECTION AND
EXPLANATION THE PROPOSED SERVICE PLAN FOR THE EXTENSION OF
MUNICIPAL SERVICES INTO EACH AREA TO BE ANNEXED; AND PRO-
VIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION THEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMER-
GENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi desires to
submit to the voters of the City the question of annexation of certain tracts
of land, more fully described herein; and
WHEREAS, Section 6 of the Municipal Annexation Act, as amended,
requires the holding of two public hearings prior to the institution of
annexation proceedings:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the area proposed to be annexed to the City of
Corpus Christi is fully described by metes and bounds and maps on file in
the office of the City Secretary, and made a part hereof by reference the
same as if copied verbatim herein, and is generally described as follows:

SARATOGA
TRACT 1
AREA "A"
Nottarb Place bounded by County Road 26-A on the South,
the East fence of Cabaniss Field on the West, on the
present City Limit line of the North and Weber Road on
the East. Containing 53 acres more or less.
TRACT 2 Area that includes the Narlatt Industry South of Saratoga
Blvd. but not included in the annexation of the area to
the South, East and West by City Ordinance No. 11645
Containing 8.0 acres more or less.
TRACT 3
TRACT 4
Being that area that was a part of the Navy's Cabaniss Field
lying South of the present City Limit line and bounded by the
Cabaniss Field fence on the South and West and by the said
City Limits line on the North and East. Containing 45 acres
of land more or less.
That area in Lot 1, Section 14, Bohemian Colony Lands bounded
by the present City Limits line of the East, North and West
and by the Sourthwest boundary of said Lot 1, on the South
and lying South of Saratoga Blvd. Containing 29 acres more
or less.
CLARKWOOD
TRACT 1
AREA "Bu
Being a tract of land 1/2 mile West of Clarkwood South Road
(F.M. #2292) generally bounded by a line 1/4 mile West of the
extension of Rand Horgan Road, Highway No. 44 on the North, the
existing City Limits line on the East, and a line that is
600 feet more or less South of and parallel to the Texas -
Mexican Railroad on the South. Containing 20.0 acres of land
more or less.
TRACT 2 Being a triangular tract of land South of Highway No. 44
out of Homestead Survey 402, bounded by City Limits on all
sides and measuring 900 feet by 850 feet by 1,220 feet. Con-.
taining 8.7 acres of land more or less.
(NOTE: This area was left outside City Limits by City
Ordinances 10945, 10946 and 14946)
TRACT 3
Being a tract of land that includes San Juan Subdivision,
save and except San Juan Park. A strip of land 500' wide
East of Clarkwood South Road running from the present City
Limits line South to the North line of the John W. Gallagbar
Survey 166, and rectangular tract of land 1,250 feet by 500
feet out of its Northwest portion. Containing 115.0 acres
of land more or less.
SUBURBAN ACRES
TRACT 4 - Being the Suburban Acres Subdivision plus that area North of said subdivision
bounded by the Missouri Pacific Railroad on the Northwest, F,M. Road 1694
on the East and the present City Limit line South of Lon C. Hill Plant on
the North. Containing 260 acres of land more or less.
HIGHWAY 624
TRACT 5 - Cenizo Canyon Subdivision Area containing 35.7 acres of
land more or less.
TRACT 6 Being the Riverside Hospital Area, bounded on the West by
Riverside Drainage Canal, on the North by Farm to Market
Highway No. 624, on the South by the South boundary line of
Lots 1 thru 3, Section 1, Nueces River Irrigation Park on
the East by U.S. Highway No. 77. Containing 120 acres of
land more or less.

Being the River Hill Country Club, Hazel, Bazemore Park,
Valley View Subdivision River Hill Subdivision and Lots
1, 2, 3, and 4, Section 2, Nueces River Irrigration Park,
Nueces River Irrigation Park Annex No. 1 and 2. The above
area is bounded by F.M. Highway 1889 and its extension north-
ward across F.M. Highway 624 on the West, by the Nueces River
on the North, Riverside Drainage Canal on the East and by the
South boundary line of Lots 1 and 2, Section 2, Nueces River
Irrigation Park and Valley View Subdivision on the South.
Save and except from the above are all of the Wood River
Subdivision units. Containing 700 acres of land more or less.
Being the area that includes the following subdivisions:
Rio Lado Acres, and all of the area between the North
boundary line of Rio Lado Acres and F.M. 624, Riverside
Acres, Northwest Heights, Hillside Heights, McIntyre Place,
Broad Acres Addition, Quail Valley , First Coloney, Riverview

Road on the South and West, the North line of Lots 17 and 20 extended to
the Northwest corner of Lot 95, Calallen Irrigation Gardens on North, the
West line of Lots 93 through 100, the East line of Sharpsburg Addition on the
East. Containing 145 acres of land more or less.

INTERSTATE N0. 37
TRACT 1 - Being that area called Tract F, Pontiac Tracts and being
the 1.8 acres occupied by Alamo Express at the Northwest
intersection of Nueces Bay Blvd., and Interstate No. 37.
Containing 1.8 acres of land more or less.
TRACT 2-A - Being that area bounded by Up River Road on the South,
Suntide Refinery Company tracts on the East, Coastal
States Gas Producing Company on the North and the present
City Limit line along Cantwell Lane on the West. Containing
12.0 acres of land more or less.
TRACT 2-B - Being a 3.37 acre tract now or formerly in the name of

line on the South, Cantwell Lane on the East, and Coastal
States Petrochemical Company tracts on the North and West.

North of Up River Road, bounded by the present City Limit
line along Up River Road on the South, Coastal States

The Fordyce Co, and that portion of McBride Lane and County

Containing 40.0 acres of land more or less.

Being an irregularly shaped tract lying North of Interstate
No. 37 and containing the following tracts adjacent to
County Road 43 (Corn Products Road), the K. Davis Industries
3 acre tract, the Hoyt Gentry 9.27 Tract, the Lambert-Fondren
Construction Company 4.3 acre tract, the Anslinger Incorporated
3 acre tract, the Hoyt Gentry 3 acre tract plus 4900 feet of
County Road No. 43, (Corn Products Road) lying North of Inter-
state No. 37. Containing 23.0 acres of land more or less.
Being Lots 16, 17, 18, and the South half of Lot 19, Block 1,
Interstate Industrial Complex plus that portion of Complex
Blvd. lying North of Interstate No. 37 and West of the above
mentioned lots. Containing 2.50 acres of land more or less.
TRACT 8 - Being an irregularly shaped tract of land lying South of -
Up River Road, and includes the following tracts: The Alice
Dunn 3.75 acre tract bounded by Frank Bailey Grain Company on
East, a Missouri Pacific Railroad spur on the South, Saber
Refining Company on the West; the Ransleber 1.53 acre tract
bounded by Saber Refining Company on the East, a Missouri
Pacific Railroad spur on the South and Champlin Petroleum
Company on the West; The Rightway Pipe & Supply Company tract
bounded on the East, South and West by Champlin Petroleum
Company; Lots 2 through 16, Block A, Kinney Sectionized Lands
and a 1.05 acre tract out of Lot 1, Block A, Kinney Sectionized
Lands lying adjacent to and West of the above lots that portion

TRACT 10-B- Being an irregularly shaped tract of land that includes the
following areas: All of Awkerman Garden Lots including Hearn's
x Ferry Road adjacent to the northeast; the Nueces County 3.1
acre tract north of Up River Road and west of Tecolote Road;
the Willie Mae Prcin 1.0 acre tract East of Tecolote Road;
Tecolote Road between the North line of Willie Mae Prcin 1.0
acre tract and Up River Road; a 1.2 acre tract now or formerly
in the name of R. Williams and fronting on Up River Road; 10.8
acres bound on the West by a 10.52 acre tract now or formerly
in the name of J.P. McGloin and on the South by Up River Road;
Caw W.D. Spencer 1.9 acre tract at the Southeast intersection
of Up River Road and Clarkwood Road; all that area bounded by
Clarkwood on the East, Interstate No. 37 on the South and West
and Up River Road on the North; Up River Road from Renfrow Road

TRACT 11 - Being a 500•foot wide strip of land adjacent to and North of
Interstate Highway No. 37, bounded on the East by the East line
of C.K. Paving Company 31.02 acre tract, and on the West by
Turkey Creek. Containing 33.9 acres of land more or less.

TRACT 13
Being that area North of Interstate Highway No. 37 and
generally bounded by McKenzie Road on the West, the
existing City Limit line along the South line of the White
Woolsey & Cummins' 50 acre tract, which line is than generally
extended Easterly to pass and be parallel with the North line
of Marie F. Gales's 2.7 acre tract for its North bound
line, and Carbon Plant Road on the East. Containing 31.3
acres of land more or less.
Being all that area bounded by the Nueces River on the
North, Nueces View Tract, Castle River Unit 2, the West
line Riverview Estates Lot 5, Lot 3 Interstate Highway No.
37 on the South and Charles Solcher's 17 acre West line on
the West. All such lines being the present City Limit line.
Containing 280.0 acres of land more or less.

Being all of Padre Island Corpus Christi, Section A including that strip between`___
its Southeast line and the present City Limit line along the Gulf of Mexico
shoreline, Section B, Section D, and the extension of its outer boundary
lines eastward to Leeward Drive, Section C, and a 500 foot wide strip off
the North side of Section "G" paralleling Whitecap Boulevard, Padre Island
Number 1, Padre Island Number 2, Padre Island Corpus Christi Section 2, 3,
and 4, Padre Island -Corpus Christi, Mariner's Cay, Mariner's Cay Unit 2-A,
Commodore's Cove Unit 1, Lots 1 thru 8, Block 31, Commodore's Cove Unit 2,
Lots 22A & 23A, Block 34,Biock 3, Blocks 21, 22, 41, 42, 45, 46, Lots 1 thru 8
Block 29, Lots 1 thru 18, Block 31, Lots 1 thru 8, Block 5, Lot 1, Block 28,
Island Fairway Estates, Porta O'Call, Barataria Bay Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5,
Point Tesoro Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and a portion of 5, Sea Pines Unit 1, Block 14,
Coquina Bay and Padre Island Drive throughfare from the North line of said
Padre Island Section 2, to the South boundary line of said Sea Pines Unit 1.
Containing 1,940 acres of land more or less.
SECTION 2. That a copy of this Ordinance signed by the Mayor of
theCity of Corpus Christi, Texas, shall constitute the notice setting the
public hearings on the proposed annexation, and the Mayor is directed to cause
a copy of this Ordinance, signed by him, to be published in the official
newspaper of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, to -wit: the Corpus Christi
Times, it being a newspaper of general circulation, published within the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas, said publication to be published at least
once in such newspaper not more than 20 days nor less than 10 days prior to
each of said hearings.
SECTION 3. Setting public hearings on the proposed annexation to
be held as follows:
(a) In the area proposed to be annexed:
1. For Area A -Thursday, September 17, 1981,
at 7:00 p.m. at

(b) For all Areas, Wednesday, September 16, 1981, at 4:00 p.m.,
in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 302 S. Shoreline,
Corpus Christi, Texas.
The purpose of these hearings shall be to provide an opportunity for all
interested persons to be heard and to make available to such persons for
inspection and explanation the proposed service plan for the extension of
municipal services into each area to be annexed.
SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to
the need for preserving public property by executing the above contract
and expediting construction of necessary improvements, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon Ordinances or -resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first•reading as an emergency measure this 4e day of
1981.
