HomeMy WebLinkAbout16549 ORD - 09/23/19811st:09/21/81/1st 4 r • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH ASPHALT CONCRETE PAVING COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ONE- HALF OF ST. FRANCIS STREET IN THE HIGHLAND OAKS SUBDIVISION IN FLOUR BLUFF; APPROPRIATING $45,000 OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND, OF WHICH $39,360.10 IS FOR THE CONSTRUC- TION CONTRACT AND $5,639.90 IS FOR ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING, CONTINGENCIES AND RELATED EXPENSES APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220-77-50, ST. FRANCIS STREET; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a con- tract with Asphalt Concrete Paving Company for construction of one-half of St. Francis Street in the Highland Oak Subdivision in Flour Bluff, all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Asphalt Concrete Paving Company, opened on the 9th day of September,1981,said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 2. That there is Street Bond Fund the sum of $45,000 construction contract and $5,639.90 hereby appropriated out of the No. 220 , of which amount $39,360.10 is for the is for additional engineering, contin- gencies and related expenses applicable to Project No. 220-77-50, St. Francis Street. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for preserving public property by executing the above contract and expediting construction of necessary improvements, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and sh take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this 23 day of/ , 1981.
