AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER
NUMBERS 4 ($43,838.36) AND 5 ($11,300) TO THE CON-
TRACT WITH BROWN & ROOT, INC., FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO
THE PEOPLES STREET T -HEAD; APPROPRIATING $55,138.36
OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND APPLICABLE TO PRO-
JECT NO. 291-77-5, PEOPLES STREET T -HEAD SLIP RE-
ALIGNMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute Change Order Numbers 4 ($43,838.36) and 5 ($11,300) to the con-
tract with Brown & Root, Inc., for improvements to the Peoples Street T -Head,
a substantial copy of which change orders are attached hereto and made a
part hereof, marked Exhibits "A" and "B".
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $55,138.36 out of
the No. 291 Park Bond Fund applicable to Project No. 291-77-5, Peoples
Street T -Head Slip Relaignment.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
completing such improvements to provide expansion of the marina, such finding
of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regu-
lar meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon
first reading as an emergency measure this 2 1iay of September, 1981.

1) Drive 11 - 35 foot timber piles, removing and
disposing of 10 existing timber piles, removing
and disposing of 33' long by 3' wide timber pier
at the negotiated price of $8,500.00.
2) Check the bearing of 8 existing piles that are
to remain in place, pull the piles that fail to
meet required bearing @ $200/pile.
