AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH M&M CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC., FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF THE FIXED BASE OPERATOR RAMPS AT CORPUS CHRISTI
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT; APPROPRIATING $490,000 OUT OF
THE NO. 245 AIRPORT BOND FUND OF WHICH $468,596.44 IS
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $21,403.56 IS FOR
ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING FEES RELATED TO RESIDENT INSPEC-
TION, LABORATORY TESTING, CONTINGENCIES AND INCIDENTAL
AND RELATED EXPENSES APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 245-77-
3, ADDITIONAL RAMP SPACES CONSTRUCTION (FIXED BASE
OPERATORS); AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a contract with M&M Construction Company, Inc. for construction
of the Fixed Base Operator Ramps at Corpus Christi International Airport, all
as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract docu-
ments on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made
a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of M&M Construction
Company opened on the 9th day of September, 1981, said bid being the lowest
and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $490,000 out of the
No. 245 Airport Bond Fund of which $468,596.44 for the construction contract
and $41,403.56 is for additional engineering fees related to resident inspec-
tion, laboratory testing contingencies, and incidental and related expenses
applicable to Project No. 245-77-3 Additional Ramp Construction (Fixed Base
Operators).
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the, public
need of expanding the fixed base operator ramp space at Corpus Christi
International Airport as soon as possible, such finding of an emergency is
made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to considera-
tion and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
