HomeMy WebLinkAbout16612 RES - 10/21/1981411) sp;10/19/81;lst A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 13691, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MARCH 2, 1977, BY ADDING BALDWIN BOULEVARD FROM AGNES STREET TO LEOPARD STREET TO THE URBAN SYSTEMS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTERED BY THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS & PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION MINUTE ORDER NO. 78833 PERTAINING TO SAID STREET, A SUBSTAN- TIAL COPY OF WHICH ORDER IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Resolution No. 13691, passed and approved by the City Council on March 2, 1977, be amended by adding Baldwin Boulevard from Agnes Street to Leopard Street to the Urban Systems Program as administered by the State Department of Highways & Public Transportation Minute Order No. 78833 pertaining to said street, a substantial copy of which order is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit A. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of adding the aforesaid section of street to the Urban Systems Program so that work on the street can commence as soon as possible, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this resolution is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency this 2/ day of October, 1981. ' AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION MINUTE ORDER NUE= County Paye l of 2 Pages troll AF.AS, in NUECES MUM, the City of Corpus Christi has requested assistance in reconstruction on Baldwin Boulevard from Agnes Street to Leopard Street, a distance of approximately 1.1 miles; and ' VEMBEAS, Ba1dvin Boulevard is included in the Urban System; and EMEREAS, it is the desire of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportationto assist the City of Carpus ,the in auch work; HST, Tom, the BEginaer-LJirector is directed to tender the following proposal to the City of Corpus Christi -r. Provided the City will:. 1 Conform to State Department of Highways and Public Transportation policies and regnlatioua regarding utility adjustments and construction responsibility. 2. Maintain all of the work constructed as part of the project and agree to regulate traffic and prevent encroachment on the right of way, all in accord- ' ante with governing policies and regulations of -the Department. Subject to the availability of Federal -aid Urban System funic -and the eligibility of the proposed work for financing with said funds, the State Department of Highwaya and Public Transportation will: 1. Prepare construction plans and specifications. 2. Provide far reconstruction of Grading, Structur.-e-and Surfacing at an esti- mated cost of ;1,653,400. It is understood that -the City may discharge its construction obligations as outlined herein in any canner as it may elect.
