AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LEASE
AGREEMENT WITH U -HAUL STORAGE FOR A TERM OF
THIRTY-FIVE MONTHS, BEGINNING NOVEMBER 1, 1981
AND TERMINATING OCTOBER 30, 1984 AT A RENTAL
RATE OF $22.00 PER MONTH FOR THE STORAGE OF
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES PILOT PROGRAM RECORDS,
ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE LEASE AGREE-
MENT, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED
HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A", AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a lease agreement with U -Haul Storage for a term of thirty-five
months, beginning November 1, 1981 and terminating October 30, 1984 at a
rental rate of $22.00 per month for the storage of employment opportunities
pilot program records, all as more fully set forth in the lease agreement,
a substantial copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by providing for storage of afore-
said records, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring
suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and
shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the
day of November, 1981.

5. Lessee hereby agrees that Lessor shall have a Lien and security interest in all of Lessee's property
stored at said premises and in event of default in payment of rent for a period of ten (10) days after the
rent becomes due hereby authorizes Lessor to seize and take possession of Lessee's space by placing
Lessor's lock thereon. Should default in payment of rent continue, atter reasonable notice given to
Lessee at the address shown below. Lessor is hereby authorized to remove Lessee's lock and to sell
Lessee's goods at public or private sale: and to apply the proceeds to the payment of rent and other
sums due Lessor. including costs of sale -with the balance of the proceeds, if any, to be paid to Lessee
Lessee shall be table for any deficiency remaining after the sale of goods. •

caused, including loss caused by fire, water, storm or theft.

an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is,
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
