AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 16247, PASSED AND APPROVED
MAY 13, 1981 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE
SO AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL AND ASSESS-
MENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE
FOLLOWING STREETS:
Washington Coles Area, Phase IIA
1. Ramirez Street, from Waco Street to IH 37,
2. Chipito Street, from North Alameda Street to
North Staples Street,
3. Waco Street, from West Broadway to Lake Street,
4. Lobo Street, from Sam Rankin Street to North
Staples Street,
5. Coke Street, from Martin Luther King Drive to
Xavier Street,
6. Frank Street, from Sam Rankin Street to Nueces
Street,
7. Carline Alley, from Frank Street to Lobo Lane,
and
8. Lake Street, from North Alameda to North Staples
Street
AS HEREIN PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 16247, passed and approved on May 13,
1981, be amended by amending Section 3 of said ordinance so as to adopt the
final assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting property owners
on the following streets:
Washington Coles Area, Phase IIA
1. Ramirez Street, from Waco Street to IH 37,
2. Chipito Street, from North Alameda Street to
North Staples Street,
3. Waco Street, from West Broadway to Lake Street,
4. Lobo Street, from Sam Rankin Street to North
Staples Street,
5. Coke Street, from Martin Luther King Drive to
Xavier Street,
6. Frank Street, from Sam Rankin Street to Nueces
Street,
7. Carline Alley, from Frank Street to Lobo Lane,
and
8. Lake Street, from North Alameda to North Staples
Street.
as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a sub-
stantial copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and made a part
hereof.

SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need
for efficient administration of City affairs by making adjustments in the
assessment roll for the above described public improvement project, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the
Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions
at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed an shall take
t upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of

FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL
WASHINGTON-COLES, PHASE IIA
STREET IMPROVEMENTS
NOVEMBER 4, 1981
This project includes improvements to the following streets:
1. Ramirez Street, from Waco Street to ID 37,
2. Chipito Street, from North Alameda Street to North Staples
Street,
3. Waco Street, from West Broadway to Lake Street,
4. Lobo Street, from Sam Rankin Street to North Staples Street,
5. Coke Street, from Martin Luther King Drive to Raiver Street,
6. Frank Street, from Sam Rankin Street to Nueces Street,
7. Carline Alley, from Frank Street to Lobo Lane, and
8. Lake Street, from North Alameda to North Staples Street.
These streets shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the
laying of a standard curb and gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 8" compacted
caliche base and 111" Type "D" Hot Asphaltic pavement. Streets will vary from 24'
to 33.9' in width and shall be constructed within the existing right-of-way. There
will be 4' or 5' wide reinforced concrete sidewalks 4" thick and 6" thick reinforced
concrete driveways as shown on the plans or where requested by the owners.
The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest paving policy
of the City. Based on this policy and the low bid submitted by Heldenfels Brothers,
the assessment rates are as follows:
