FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND DRIVE
(S.H. 358)
FROM WEST OF S.H. 286 INTERCHANGE
TO 1.2 MILES NORTHWEST OF AIRPORT DITCH
NOVEMBER 11, 1981
This project includes the improvement of State Highway 358 within the limits
described and provides for six lanes of traffic divided by a median barrier
at the center. Frontage roads shall be constructed for two lanes of traffic
on each side of the highway. These roadways will be 32 and 35 feet wide with
a 6" compacted lime subgrade, a 12" flexible base and 11/2" hot -mix asphaltic
concrete surface. A 6" curb and 11' gutter section shall be constructed on
the outboard side of each frontage road and a machine laid header type curb
shall be constructed on the inboard side. Standard 4' wide reinforced con-
crete sidewalks 4" thick and reinforced concrete driveways 6" thick shall be
constructed as shown in the plans and specifications of the State Department
of Highways and Public Transportation.
This project is being constructed jointly by the City and the State Department
of Highways and Public Transportation and is an improvement assessment
project. Based on low bid prices submitted by Heldenfels Brothers, Inc. and
the City's current assessment policy, abutting property owners are assessed at
the following rates:

AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 15648 PASSED AND APPROVED
JULY 23, 1980 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID
ORDINANCE SO AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT
ROLL AND ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING
PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE FOLLOWING STREET:
PADRE ISLAND DRIVE (S.H. 358), FROM WEST OF
S.H. 286 INTERCHANGE TO 1.2 MILES NORTHWEST
OF AIRPORT DITCH;
AS HEREIN PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 15648, passed and approved on July
23, 1980, be amended by amending Section 3 of said ordinance so as to adopt
the final assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting property
owners on the following streets:
Padre Island Drive (S.H. 358), from west of
S.H. 286 Interchange to 1.2 miles northwest of
Airport Ditch;
as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a
substantial copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and made
a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members.,—copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by making adjustments in the assess-
ment roll for the above described public improvement project, such finding
of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed)nd shall tak ffect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this the day of

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
