AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
GULF COAST CONSTRUCTION FOR REMODELING THE LOWER NUECES
WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT OFFICE; APPROPRIATING $24,000 OUT
OF THE NO. 141 WATER FUND, ACTIVITY 541.45, CODE 502,
OF WHICH $18,500 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND
$5,500 IS FOR ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING, LEGAL ADVERTISING,
AND CONTINGENCY EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a contract with Gulf Coast Construction for remodeling the Lower
Nueces Water Supply District Office, all as more fully set forth in the
plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of
the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and
according to the bid of H & H Construction Company opened on the 21st day
of October, 1981, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $24,000 out of the
No. 141 Water Fund, Activity 541.45, Code 502, of which $18,500 is for the
construction contract and $5,500 is for additional engineering, legal adver-
tising and contingency expenses.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of
public necessity of remodeling the Lower Nueces Water Supply District Office,
such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the
Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at
three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passe and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of November, 1981.

an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting

suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
