AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT
TO THE AGREEMENT WITH URBAN ENGINEERING FOR IMPROVE-
MENTS TO THE FLOUR BLUFF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
(EPA PROJECT NO. C-48-1215-02) WHICH PROVIDES FOR AN
INCREASED PLANT CAPACITY AND SPECIFIED A REVISED FEE
OF $265,855, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF SAID AMENDMENT
BEING ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED
EXHIBIT "A"; APPROPRIATING $148,702 OUT OF THE NO.
250 SANITARY SEWER BOND FUND TO SUPPLEMENT $117,153
PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO.
250-77-19, LAGUNA MADRE (FLOUR BLUFF) PLANT EXPAN-
SION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute an amendment to the agreement with Urban Engineering for improve-
ments to the Flour Bluff Wastewater Treatment Plant (EPA Project No. C-48-
1215-02) which provides for an increased plant capacity and specified a
revised fee of $265,855, a substantial copy of said amendment being attached
hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $148,702 out of the
No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund to supplement $117,153 previously appropria-
ted, applicable to Project No. 250-77-19, Laguna Madre (Flour Bluff) Plant
Expansion.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
executing the aforesaid amendment so that expansion of the Laguna Madre Plant
may proceed on a timely basis, such finding of an emergency is made and declar-
ed requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting up-
on ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure
this the t1 day of November, 1981.

AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO THE CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
ON THE FLOUR BLUFF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
URBAN ENGINEERING
The City of Corpus Christi, hereafter referred to as "City", and Urban
Engineering, hereafter referred to as "Engineer", hereby agree to the following
amendment to the contract for Step 2 engineering services to be performed on the
Flour Bluff Wastewater Treatment Plant, also known as EPA Project No. C-48-1215-02,
approved by the Corpus Christi City Council by Ordinance No. 12499 on February 26,
1975 and as further amended by Ordinance Nos. 13256, 14450, 15014 and 15331:
SECTION C. COMPENSATION
2. For the preparation of construction drawings and specifications, contract
documents, and design summary, the following schedule shall apply, in accordance
with the Scope of Work specified in the Facility Plan:
Proposed Laguna Madre Plant Expansion $220,870
Proposed Lift Station No. 2 and 12" Force Main 37,485
Contract Item Nos. 1, 4 and 11 5,000
(Ineligible EPA Grant Aid)
Remote Monitoring System 2,000
Preparation of Preliminary Plan of Operation 500
$265,855
All other terms and conditions of the contract and subsequent amendments
shall remain in full force and effect.
EXECUTED IN DUPLICATE, each of which shall be considered an original, this
day of November, 1981.
