AN ORDINACE
APPROPRIATING $43,475.10 OUT OF THE 209 COMMUNITY
CONVENTION FACILITY BOND FUND FOR PROJECT 209-76-1.3,
CONVENTION CENTER EQUIPMENT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PUR-
CHASING THEATRICAL LIGHTING EQUIPMENT FOR THE CON-
VENTION CENTER'S BANQUET HALL FROM MEDIA SPECIALTIES
OF SAN ANTONIO ($31,613.10) AND SOUTHWESTERN THEATRE
EQUIPMENT COMPANY OF HOUSTON ($11,862.00); AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:

SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $43,475.10 out of the
No. 209 Community Convention Facility Bond Fund for Project No. 209-76-1.3,
Convention Center Equipment, to purchase theatrical lighting equipment for the
Convention Center's Banquet Hall, from Media Specialties of San Antonio
($31,613.10) and Southwestern Theatre Equipment Company of Houston, ($11,862.00).
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
purchasing the aforesaid items in order to provide theatrical lighting
equipment for the Banquet Hall at the Convention Center so that the facilities
of the Convention Center may be fully utilized, such finding of an emergency
is made and declared requiring suspension ofthe Charter rule as to considera-
tion and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so
that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an
emergency -measure this the it day of November, 1981.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
