AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH MOORE GOLF, INC., OF CULPEPPER VIRGINIA, FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF A FOUR -FIELD SOFTBALL COMPLEX IN
BILL WITT PARK; APPROPRIATING $580,000 OUT OF THE
NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND, OF WHICH $553,050 IS FOR
THE CONTRACT AWARD, AND $26,950 IS FOR ADDITIONAL
ENGINEERING, LEGAL ADVERTISING, CONTINGENCIES,
AND RELATED EXPENSES APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 291-
77-9, SOFTBALL COMPLEX: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a contract with Moore Golf, Inc., of Culpepper, Virginia, for
construction of a four -field softball complex in Bill Witt Park, all as
more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents
on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part
hereof by reference and according to the bid of Moore Golf, Inc., opened
on the llth day of November, 1981, said bid being the lowest and most
advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $580,000 out of the
No. 291 Park Bond Fund, of which $553,050 is for the contract award and
$26,950 is for additional engineering, legal advertising, contingencies
and related expenses applicable to Project No. 291-77-9,Softball Complex,
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need
of executing the aforesaid contract so that construction of the softball
complex can begin at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of December,
1981.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
