HomeMy WebLinkAbout16753 ORD - 12/09/1981AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF AEPRALSAL & REAL ESTATE._SERILICES INC ,7TM AWRY" AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING .&ING THE ZONING ON APPROXIMATELY 18 65 ACRFS OUT OF PORTIONS OF IOTS 2r,, 26, AND 27 SECTION 49 FLOUR BLUFF A D LA F AND GARDEN TRACTS SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM "A-1" APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT AND "R-2" MULTIPLE DWELLING DISTRICT / TO "8-18" ONE -FAMILY DWELITNG DISTRICT KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday December 9, 1981 , at Regular Council Meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of record in Volume 9, pages 565, et segj of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, as amended from time to time, and Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the making the change hereinafter set out in particular as amended by same is hereby amended by MJCROFILMER 'SEP 28 1984 16753 • SECTION 2. That the hereinafter more fully described portion of approximately 18.65 acres out of Lots 25, 26, and 27, Section 49, Flour Bluff Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and the same is hereby rezoned from "A-1" Apartment House District and "R-2" Multiple Dwelling District to "R -1B" One -Family Dwelling District: BEGINNING at the southwest corner of Lot 5, Block 13, Waldron Subdivision Unit 2 as recorded in Volume 15, Page 57, Nueces County Map Records; THENCE, south 61° 00' 53' east 717. 77' more or less to a point; THENCE, south 29° 06' 11' west 237' more or less to a point ; THENCE, south 61° east 65. 83' more or less to a point; THENCE, south 29° west 94. 58' more or less to a point; THENCE, north 61° west 198' more or less to a point; THENCE, south 29° west 310. 05' more or less to a point; THENCE, north 61° west 1191' more or less to a point; THENCE, north 28° 56' 39' east 641.29' more or less to a point; THENCE, south 61° 00' 53' east 606.43' more or less to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended .as -herein ordained. -- SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict • herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the Ta day of ATTEST: City Secretary APPRQVE[Z /D DAY OF YAA / 1 g J.
