HomeMy WebLinkAbout16767 ORD - 12/16/1981RWC:jkh:12-16-81;2nd AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A LEASE WITH PADRE ISLAND INVESTMENT CORPORATION FOR TEMPORARY USE OF A PORTION OF PADRE ISLES COUNTRY CLUB MAINTE- NANCE FACILITY TO SERVE AS LOCATION FOR TEMPORARY PUBLIC SAFETY INSTALLATION, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE LEASE AGREEMENT, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a lease with Padre Island Investment Corporation for temporary use of a portion of Padre Island Country Club Maintenance Facility to serve as location for a temporary Public Safety installation, all as more fully set forth in the lease agreement, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by providing public safety facility in an area presently without such services, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /fday of December, 1981. BRUCE AYCOCK, CITY ATTORNEY By 7, `44 my Assistant Cite THE CIT9'OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS 16'76'7 SEP 2 81984 MICROFILMED LEASE AGREEMENT THE STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF NUECES § Whereas, this agreement is entered into by and between Padre Island Investment Corporation, hereinafter referred to as "Corporation", and the City of Corpus Christi, hereinafter referred to as "City"; and Whereas, Corporation is the owner of the premises described herein and City desires to lease a portion thereof to be used as_a temporary site for a public safety installation. Now, therefore, for and in consideration of the sum of ten ($10.00) dollars and other good -and valuable consideration to it in hand paid by City, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, Corporation does hereby lease and demise unto City, for a term of three (3) years beginning on date of execution hereof, the following described property: A portion of Lot 27A, Padre Island Corpus Christi Island Fairway Estates, known as the Padre Isles Country Club Maintenance Facility, as shown by map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 46, pages 208 through 210, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, for the purpose of locating, maintaining, servicing, storing and operating fire fighting equipment, police vehicles and appurtenances thereto upon the leased premises, which is intended to provide a base of operations for the performance of public safety services.
