HomeMy WebLinkAbout16786 ORD - 12/23/1981AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23-42 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, 1976, AS AMENDED, TO INCREASE FEES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1982, FOR ISSUING CERTIFIED COPIES OF BIRTH AND DEATH RECORDS; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DE- CLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 23-42 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, 1976, as amended, is hereby amended to hereafter read as follows: "Section 23-42. Same - Issuance of certified copies; fee. The registrar of vital statistics may issue to a properly qualified applicant a certified copy of a birth record filed in his office upon the payment by the applicant of a fee of $5.00 for each such copy, and a certified copy of a death record for a fee of $5.00 for the first copy and $2.00 for each additional copy." SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after January 1, 1982, after its final passage and publication one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, which publication shall contain the caption stating in summary the purpose of the ordinance. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of efficient administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is _. made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to considera- tion and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the ATTEST: Cit Secretary APPROVED1: DAY OF DECEMBER, L981 City Attorney day of December, 1981.
