AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
A CONTRACT WITH L&M METAL FABRICATORS,
INC. FOR ROOF REPAIRS AT THE CORPUS
CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT; AUTHORI-
ZING FUND TRANSFER FROM THE NO. 117
AIRPORT FUND, DEPARTMENT 363, ACTIVITY
546.11, RESERVE APPROPRIATION, TO FUND
117, DEPARTMENT 365, ACTIVITY 546.11,
TERMINAL AND TOWER BUILDING: THE SUM OF
$18,000; APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRI-
ATING $18,000 OUT OF THE NO. 117 AIRPORT
FUND, DEPARTMENT 365, ACTIVITY 546.11,
OF WHICH $16,577.50 IS FOR THE CONSTRUC-
TION CONTRACT AND $1,422.50 IS FOR
ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING, LEGAL ADVERTISING,
CONTINGENCIES AND RELATED EXPENSES; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to
execute a contract with L&M Metal Fabricators, Inc. for roof
repairs at the Corpus Christi International Airport, all as
more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and
contract documents on file in the office of the City
Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference
and according to the bid of L&M Metal Fabricators, Inc.,
opened on the 15th day of December, 1981, said bid being the
lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas.
SECTION 2. That authorization is hereby given for
a fund transfer from the No. 117 Airport Fund, Department
363, Activity 546.14 Reserve Appropriation, to No. 117
Airport Fund, Department 365, Activity 546.11, Terminal and
Tower Building, the sum of $18,000. There is hereby appro-
priated and reappropriated out of the No. 117 Airport Fund,
Department 365, Activity 546.11, the sum of $18,000, of which
$16,577.50 is for the construction contract and $1,422.50 is
for additional engineering, legal advertising, contingencies
and related expenses.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor
or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare
an emergency due to the need for preserving public property

by executing the above contract and expediting construction
of necessary improvements, such finding of an emergency is
made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolu-
tions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is
passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an
emergency measure this 30th day of December, 1981.
