AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937,
APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ
OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED
FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF

AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON
THE NORTH 1/4 OF LOTS 9 AND 10, SECTION 19, FLOUR
BLUFF AND ENCINAL FARM AND GARDEN TRACTS, MORE
FULLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER,
SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY,
TEXAS, FROM "F -R" FARM -RURAL DISTRICT
TO "I-2" LIGHT,INDUSIRIAL DISIRICI
KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING
ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City
Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application
of Central Power & Light Company
for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before
the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper
notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday,
December 30, 1981 , at Regular Council Meeting
of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall__in the City of
Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was
decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth
amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and
the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW., THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of
record in Volume 9, pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution
Records, as amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by
Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by
making the change hereinafter set out.

SECTION 2. That the hereinafter more fully described portion of
Lots 9 and 10, Section 19, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts,
situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and the same
is hereby eezoned from "F -R" Farm -Rural District to "I-2" Light Industrial
District:
A 10 acre tract of land, more or less, out of Lots 9 and 10, Section 19, Flour
Bluff and Encinal Farm & Garden Tracts as shown on Plat in Book A, Page 43,
Nueces County Plat Records, Nueces County, Texas, more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, the intersection of the Northwest right-of-way
line of 120 foot wide Rodd Field Road and the North boundary line common to
said Lots 9 and 10 for the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE N 60°59'00" W with said common North boundary line a distance
of 1260 feet, more or less, to a point on the centerline of an existing 75 foot
drainage easement for the Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE S 29°01'00" West with said existing 75 foot drainage easement
centerline, a distance of 338.70 feet, more or less, to a point for the
Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE S 60°59'00" East with a line 338.70 feet from and parallel to
the common North boundary line of said Lots 9 and 10, a distance of 1260 feet,
more or less, to a point on the Northwest right-of-way line of 120 foot wide
Rodd Field Road for the Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE N 29°01'00" East with the Northwest right-of-way line of 120
foot wide Rodd Field Road, a distance of 338.70 feet, more or less, to the
POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as
amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in
full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due
to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting
the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration
and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings
so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
