AN ORDINANCF
CLOSING AND ABANDONING A 150 FOOT BY 1 FOOT PORTION
OF AN ALLEY ALONG THE EAST LINE OF LOTS 33 THROUGH
38, BLOCK 810, PORT ARANSAS CLIFFS, AS RECORDED AS
A REPLAT IN VOLUME 8, PAGE 49, MAP RECORDS OF NUECES
COUNTY, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR RETAINING THE EAST 19
FEET FOR THE LENGTH OF THE ALLEY OPEN, PROVIDING FOR
REVERTING ONE FOOT OF THE ALLEY TO THE ABUTTING
PROPERTY OWNER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, notice of the time and place for holding a hearing con-
cerning the closing of a 150 foot by 1 foot portion of an alley along the
east line of Lots 33 through 38, Block 810, Port Aransas Cliffs, as recorded
as a replat in Volume 8, Page 49, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas,
situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, was given by publica-
tion and mailed to the last known addresses of the owners of property abut-
ting the public way proposed to be closed, and thereafter, pursuant to said
notice, public hearing was held at Regular Council Meeting by the City Council
of the City of Corpus Christi on January 6, 1982, in accordance with the
provisions of the City Charter; and
WHEREAS, it was determined by the City Council after such hearing
that a portion of the alley, proposed to be closed, is not needed now, nor will
it be within the foreseeable future needed as a public alley, but that the
east 19 feet, for the length of the alley, remain open, and that one foot of
the alley revert to the abutting property owners:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That a 150 foot portion of an alley along the east line
of Lots 33 through 38, Block 810, Port Aransas Cliffs, as recorded as a replat
in Volume 8, Page 49, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, is hereby closed
and abandoned.
SECTION 2. That the east 19 feet for the length of the alley open
is hereby retained and that one foot of the alley is hereby reverted to the
abutting property owner.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to public con-
venience and necessity better being served by the closing of the aforesaid
alley, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension
of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions

at thrco regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take
effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the
January, 1982.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
