AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER
NO. 9 TO THE CONTRACT WITH BRASELTON CONSTRUCTION
COMPANY FOR EXPANSION OF THE EXISTING BAGGAGE CLAIM
AREA AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT;
APPROPRIATING $55,000 OUT OF THE NO. 245 AIRPORT
BOND FUND APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 245-77-4,
TERMINAL BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute Change Order No. 9 to the contract with Braselton Construction
Company for expansion of the existing baggage claim area at the Corpus Christi
International Airport.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $55,000 out of the
No. 245 Airport Bond Fund applicable to Project No. 245-77-4, Terminal Building
Improvements.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of
executing the abovementioned change order so that construction of the baggage
claim improvements can continue on a timely basis, such finding of an emer-
gency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to con-
sideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings
so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as
an emergency measure this the /3 day of January, 1982.

an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
