BEECROFT COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE ' L -HEAD BAIT SHOP AND FOR REPAIRS TO THE KIWANIS RECREATION CENTER; APPROPRIATING $135,000 OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 291-77-15, L -HEAD BAIT SHOP/KIWANIS RECREATION CENTER REPAIRS (HURRICANE ALLEN) OF WHICH $110,100 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $24,900 IS FOR ADDITIONAL ARCHITECTURAL FEES, LEGAL ADVERTIS- ING, CONTINGENCIES AND RELATED EXPENSES; AND DECLAR- ING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized - to execute a contract with B.E. Beecroft Company for construction of the L -Head Bait Shop and for repairs to the Kiwanis Recreation Center, all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of B.E. Beecroft Company opened on the 9th day of December, 1981, said bid being the lowest and most advan- tageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $135,000 out of the No. 291 Park Bond Fund applicable to Project No. 291-77-15, L -Head Bait Shop/ Kiwanis Recreation Center Repairs (Hurricane Allen) of which $110,100 is for the construction contract and $24,900 is for additional architectural fees, legal advertising, contingencies and related expenses. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of executing the abovementioned contract so that construction of the L -Head Bait Shop and repairs to the Kiwanis Recreation Center can begin at the earliest practicable date, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinance's or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and 11-3822 SEP 28 1984' ' TAICROFIL1ViEf5 shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency this the day of January, 1982.
