AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING A TRUST FUND FOR THE CITY MANAGER OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI IN THE AMOUNT OF $70,000 AND
APPROPRIATING $70,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND RESERVE,
ACTIVITY 521.99, CODE 490, FOR TRANSFER TO THE TRUST
FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That a Trust Fund in the amount of $70,000 is hereby
established for Edward A. Martin, City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi,
such Trust Funds payable to Edward A. Martin, City Manager, only in the event
of involuntary termination of employment by the City Council. Said Trust
Fund shall be retained by the City if the City Manager of the City of Corpus
Christi voluntarily terminates employment.
SECTION 2. Interest accrued on the Trust Fund shall be credited
to the General Fund of the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 3. There is appropriated $70,000 from the General Fund
Reserve, Activity 521.99, for the purpose of establishing this Trust Fund.
SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of
efficient administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is
made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to considera-
tion and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so
that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an
emergency measure this the .20 day of January, 1982.

an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting

suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
