AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13193 APPROVING A
RATE SCHEDULE FOR THE RENTAL, SALE, AND
MAINTENANCE OF CABLE TELEVISION CONVERTERS
TO SUBSCRIBERS OF COMMUNITY ANTENNA TELE-
VISION SERVICES WITHIN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI BY ATHENA CABLEVISION OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, INC.; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, Athena Cablevision of Corpus Christi,
Inc. (hereinafter called Athena), who
television franchise by Ordinance No.
approval by the City Council of rates
was granted a cable
16133, has requested
for the rental, sale,
and maintenance of converters to subscribers of Athena in
anticipation of the completion of Phase I of the cable
television system rebuild described in Ordinance No. 16133;
and'
WHEREAS, the public hearing on the request for
converter rates was held by the City Council on January 20,
1982; and
,
WHEREAS, at such hearing the City Council received
and considered comments concerning the, dost of rendering‹)
such services and other matters relevant to a determination
of proper converter rates;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 1. of

Converter Maintenance and service at
Subscriber's Option (Only for
Converters Sold by Athena) $ 1.00 per month
SECTION 2. Nothing contained herein shall be
construed as granting Athena the exclusive right to lease,
sell, or maintain converters to subscribers of Athena's CATV
system. Subscribers will have the following options with
regard to converters:
1. Rental of a converter from Athena with
maintenance, service, and replacement Athena's responsibi-
lity.
2. Purchase of a converter from Athena at cost
with maintenance and service the responsibility of the
subscriber. At the subscriber's option, a maintenance and
service contract at a rate not to exceed $1.00 per month may
be entered into with Athena whereby Athena will provide any
needed maintenance or service for the converter.
3. Purchase of a converter from an equipment
supplier with maintenance and service the responsibility of
the subscriber.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in
the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by
publishing the full text of this Ordinance.
