AN ORDINANCE
THAT THE CITY MANAGER IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT ASSISTANCE UNDER PUBLIC
LAW 92-500 AND THE RULES AND REGULATIONS
PURSUANT THERETO, SPECIFICALLY 40CFR 30.315-1
(1975); AND TO SIGN THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE
GRANT ASSISTANCE, WHEN MADE, AND ANY OTHER
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi deems it necessary
and proper to apply for Federal Grant Assistance under the
Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendment of 1972, Public Law
92-500, and rules and regulations pursuant thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI:
SECTION 1. That Edward A. Martin, as the Signatory
Agent for the City of Corpus Christi, effective February 26,
1982, or the'sulccessor of said Agent, is hereby authorized to
make application for grant assistance under Public Law 92-500 and
the rules and regulations pursuant thereto, specifically 40CFR
30-315-1 (1975); and to sign the acceptance of the grant
assistance, when made, and any other documents required to
complete the project, on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or
five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an
emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City
affairs by applying for Federal Grant Assistance under the
Federal Water Pollution Control Act, such finding of an emergency
is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as
to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at
three regular meetings so that this resolution is passed and

shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure.this

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
