HomeMy WebLinkAbout16877 ORD - 02/17/1982• AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCELS 1 AND 2 IN CONNECTION WITH THE BALDWIN BOULEVARD WATER LINE AND HOT MIX OVERLAY IM- PROVEMENTS - NAVIGATION BOULEVARD TO SANTA ELENA STREET, PROJECT NO. 205-81-4; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 205 WATER SYSTEM BOND CONSTRUCTION FUND THE SUM OF $7,000, OF WHICH $6,250 IS FOR ACQUISITION AND $750 IS FOR CON- TINGENCIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute documents necessary for the acquisition of Parcel 1 from Southview Corporation and Parcel 2 from the Driscoll Foundation in connection with the Baldwin Boulevard Water Line and Hot Mix Overlay Improvements - Navigation kulevard to Santa Elena Street, Project No. 205-81-4, said parcels being more fully described as follows: PARCEL 1 Being a 40 foot wide strip of land out of Lot 1, Block 10, and Lot 1, Block 11, J.C. Russell Farm Blocks, as recorded in Volume 28, Pages 58-59, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas. Beginning at a point being the northest corner of said Lot 1, Block 10, and the southeast corner of said Lot 1, Block 11; Thence south 20.00 feet to a point for the southeast corner of this tract; Thence west 1,306.69 feet to a point; Thence north 40.00 feet to a point for the northwest corner of this tract; Thence east 1,306.69 feet to a point; Thence south 20.00 feet to the point of beginning and containing 1.2 acres, more or less. PARCEL 2 Being a 40 foot wide strip of land out of Lot 2, Block 10, and Lot 2, Block 11, J.C. Russell Farm Blocks, as recorded in Volume 28, Pages 58-59, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas. Beginning at a point being the southwest corner of said Lot 2, Block 11; 115877 SEP 2 8 1984 miuNDFILMED 2 Thence north 20.00 feet to a point; Thence east 1,090.00 feet to a point on the west right of way of a Tex-Mex railroad spur; Thence south along said right of way 40.00 feet to a point; Thence west 1,090.00 feet to a point; Thence north 20.00 feet to the point of beginning and containing 1.0 acres, more or less. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $7,000 out of the No. 205 Water System Bond Construction Fund, of which amount $6,250 is for acquisition and $750 is for contingencies. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by the acquisition of the aforesaid parcels for the purposes set out, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effe upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /7 day of , 1982.
