AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD A
TIREDGING CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF SIX
THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED ($6,500) DOLLARS TO
GOLDSTON CORPORATION FOR DREDGING FROM LAND
AN AREA OF 100'x 40'x6' AT THE OSO BOAT RAMP,
AS REQUESTED BY THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE
DEPARTMENT, BASED UPON DAMAGE TO THE AREA
CAUSED BY HURRICANE ALLEN, VERIFIED BY THE
FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE TEAM
DAMAGE SURVEY REPORT 2401, AND AGREED TO IN
AN INTERLOCAL CONTRACT, SUBSTANTIAL COPIES OF
WHICH ARE ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART
HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.'
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to award a dredging contract in the amount of Six
Thousand Five Hundred ($6,500) Dollars to Goldston Corporation
for dredging from land an area of 100'x40'x6' at the Oso Boat
Ramp, as requested by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department,
based upon damage to the area caused by Hurricane Allen, verified
by the Federal Emergency Management Assistance Team Damage Survey
Report 2401, and agreed to in an interlocal contract, substantial
copies of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof,
marked Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or
five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an
emergency due to the need of executing the above mentioned award
so that the improvements at the Oso Boat Ramp can commence, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension
of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon
ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this
ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as
an emergency

This is -to confirm our telephone conversation this date concerning the
enclosed Interlocal Contract No. 352-075 between the Texas Parks and
Wildlife Department and the City of Corpus Christi. The Interlocal
Contract is for repairs to State boat Ramp SBF 74-16-263-178 located on
Ocean Drive near Oso Bay Bridge.
-Pursuant to our conversation, the above referenced contract has been
executed by this Department on the basis that said work will be accom-
plished without further delay and with all due haste. As I mentioned,
this project delay is holding up the Department's final billing to the
Federal Emergency Management Assistance Program on damages sustained
during Hurricane Allen.

Repair to damages to State Boat Ramp SBF 74-16-263-178, located on Ocean Drive
near Oso Bay Bridge, Nueces County, accrued during Hurricane Allen.
II. BASIS FOR CALCULATING REIMBURSABLE COST:
Damages identified by FEMA Inspection Team on September 22, 1980, with cost
estimates at that time.

III. CONTRACT AMOUNT:
The total amount of this Contract shall not exceed THE SUM OF Twenty Seven Thousand Three
Hundred Eighty and No/1 00 DOLLARS ( $27,380.00 ).

IV. PAYMENT FOR SERVICES:
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department shall make payments from current funds appropriated for the
purpose of Services received. Payment for Services performed shall be billed upon complett on
(Weekly, monthly, lump sum, etc.)
THE UNDERSIGNED CONTRACTING PARTIES do hereby certify that, (1) the services specified above are
necessary and essential for activities that are properly within the statutory functions and programs of the affected
parties, (2) the proposed arrangements serve the interest of efficient and economical administration of the parties,
(3) the individuals whose approval signatures are affixed to this contract are duly authorized by the governing body
of each party to enter into and execute this contract or agreement.
