HomeMy WebLinkAbout16886 ORD - 02/17/1982AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE N. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, BY AMENDING THE ZONING - MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON 28.90 ACRES OUT OF LOT 1, SECTION 14, BOHEMIAN COLONY LANDS, SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS,\ FROM "R-16" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "1-2 LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of City of Corpus Christi for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, February 17, 1982, at Regular Council Meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECITON 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, -1937, appearing of record in Volume 9, pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, as amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning of that tract consisting of 28.90 acres out of Lot 1, Section 14, Bohemian Colony Lands, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, more fully described hereinafter by metes and up 2 8 1984 16886 MICROFILMED bounds, be changed from "R -1B" One -family Dwelling District to "I-2" Light Industrial District: Being a rectangular tract of land out of Lot 1, Section 14, Bohemian Colony Lands as shown by Map of Record in Volume A, Page 48, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the present city limits line of the City of Corpus Christi, a point on the Southwest right- of-way line of Saratoga Boulevard said point being S 29 degrees W, 60.0 feet and S 61 degrees 32 E, 660 feet from the most Northerly corner of said Lot 1; THENCE S 61 deg. 32' E, with the present city limits line and the Southwest right-of-way line of said Saratoga Boulevard, a distance of approximately 1000 feet to a point; THENCE S29 deg. 00' W, still with the present city limits line according to City Ordinance No. 14680 a distance of 1260 feet to a point in the Southwest line of said Lot 1; THENCE N 61 deg. 32' W, with the Southwest line of said Lot 1, a distance of approximately 1000 feet to a point in the present city limits line according to City Ordinance No. 15089; THENCE N 29 deg. 00' E, with the present city limits line according to said City Ordinance 15089, a distance of 1260 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. Containing 28.90 acres of land more or less. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts or ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or reso- lutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 17th day of February, 1982.
