AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A MODIFICATION
TO LEASE AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES, INC., FOR THE
USE OF CERTAIN SPACE WEST OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING AT AN ANNUAL RENT OF $3,805.80,
ON A MONTH-TO-MONTH BASIS UNTIL LEASES ARE CONSUMMATED WITH
ALL AIRLINE USERS, SAID SPACE TO BE LEASED FOR THE PURPOSE
OF EXPANDING ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE SPACE, ALL AS MORE FULLY
DESCRIBED IN THE MODIFICATION OF LEASE AGREEMENT, A SUBSTAN-
TIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF,
MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized -
to execute a modification to the lease agreement with American Airlines, Inc.,
for the use of certain space west of the Corpus Christi International Airport
Terminal Building at an annual rent of $3,805.80, on a month-to-month basis
until leases are consummated with all airline users, said space to be leased
for the purpose of expanding administrative office space, all as more fully
set forth in the modification of lease agreement, a substantial copy of which
is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by execution of the aforesaid modifi-
cation of lease agreement, such finding of an emergency is made and declared
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to cOnsideration and voting upon
ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure

COUNTY OF NUECES
WHEREAS the City of Corpus Christi, acting by and through
its duly authorized City Manager, Ernest Briones, does hereby agree with
American Airlines, Inc., to enter into the following agreement:
1. The City of Corpus Christi agrees to rent space in
the International Arrival Building at the Corpus Christi International
Airport to American Airlines,) Inc., from December 1, 1981, on a month-to-month

basis until leases with airfine tenants are executed. The portion to be
rented is more fully described on the attached map, marked Exhibit "A," and
contains approximately 486 square feet of office space.
2. American Airlines agrees to pay a rental amount of
$7.83 per square foot per year payable monthly in the amount of $317.15 to
the Airport Manager at his office in Nueces County, Texas.
Executed in duplicate originals, this the 1st day of
February, 1982.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is,
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
