HomeMy WebLinkAbout16900 ORD - 02/24/1982lw;2-22-82;lst AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE ARCHITECTURAL AGREEMENT WITH COTTEN/LANDRETH ARCHITECTS FOR ADDITIONAL WORK AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIR- PORT, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; APPROPRIATING $23,979 , OUT OF THE NO. 245 AIRPORT BOND FUND FOR SAID AMENDMENT, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 245-77-4, AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute an amendment to the architectural agreement with Cotten/Landreth Architects for additional work at the Corpus Christi International Airport, all as more fully set forth in the amendment, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 245 Airport Bond Fund the amount of $23,979 for the aforesaid amendment, applicable to Project No. 245-77-4, Airport Terminal Building. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for preserving public property by executing an amendment to the architectural agreement and providing the sums necessary to carry out the terms of the agreement, thereby expediting construction of needed improve- ments at the airport, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an;emer- :.> gency measure this aP day of February, 1982. NUECE5 1 The City of Corpus Christi, hereinafter called "City" and Cotten/Landreth Architects, hereinafter called "Architect" hereby agree to the following amend— ment to the contract for architectural services on the Terminal Building at the Corpus Christi International Airport which was authorized by the Corpus Christi City Council May 10, 1978 by the passage of Ordinance No. 14308 and was later amended by Ordinance No. 15673 on August 6, 1980. Section II, Scope of Services, shall be amended to add the following items of work to the current contract. 1. Expansion of the new Baggage Claim Area to the Northeast corner of he Terminal Building. The estimated construction cost for this expansion is $55,000. 2. Air conditioning of the East and West Concourses at the Airport Terminal. The estimated construction cost for this work is $158,000. 3. Development and installation of signs and graphics for the Terminal Building. The estimated cost for this work is $69,100. Section III shall be amended to reflect a total architectural fee of $169,273 which represents an increase of $23,979. The additional fees are defined as follows. 1- Baggage Claim Area (Project 8) $ 4,675 2. Concourse Air Conditioning (Project A) 13,430 3. Signs & Graphics (Project B) 5,874 $23,979 c.x14.1?" Payments will be made in accordance with the schedule defined in the amendment to the architectural contract approved August 6, 1980. All other terms and conditions of the contract executed May 8, 1978, by the City and the Architect not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full force and effect.
