AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACQUIRE DRAINAGE
EASEMENT FROM PATRICK DIAMOND FOR LAS PALMAS DRAINAGE
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; APPROPRIATING $2,200 OUT OF THE
NO. 295 STORM SEWER BOND FUND FOR ACQUISITION,
APPRAISAL SERVICES AND CONTINGENCIES; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute documents necessary to acquire Parcel 1, a drainage easement, in
connection with the Las Palmas Drainage Improvements, Project No. 295-77-17,
said parcel being more fully described as follows:
Being a 20 foot wide strip of land out of Lot 10, Block 2,
Laguna Vista Shores, as recorded in Volume 8, Page 32,
Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a point being the east corner of said Lot
10;
Thence N. 59 deg. 42 W., 110.00 feet to a point in the
east right-of-way of 40 foot wide Shore Drive;
Thence S. 33 deg. 57' W., along said right-of-way 20.04
feet to a point for the west corner of this tract;
Thence S. 59 deg. 42' E., 110.00 feet to a point;
Thence N. 33 deg. 57' E., 20.04 feet to the point of
beginning and containing 0.051 acres, more or less;
Together with a 20 foot wide temporary construction
easement south of and adjacent to the permanent drainage
easement to be used for working room, storage of
materials and equipment. Said temporary construction
easement to be terminated upon completion of the
project for which it was granted.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 295
Storm Sewer Bond Fund the sum of $2,200, of which $1,265 is for acquisition
and $935 is for appraisal services and contingencies.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by the acquisition of the aforesaid
parcel, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension
of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions
at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take
effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the N-3,444day
of March, 1982.

introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
