HomeMy WebLinkAbout16928 ORD - 03/10/1982lw;3-8-82;lst AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF PUMPER TRUCK FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND APPROPRIATING $128,201 FOR SAID PURCHASE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given for purchase of one 1500 GPM pumper truck from American La France, Inc., for the Fire Stations Activity. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 270 Public Safety Equipment Bond Fund the slim of $128,201 for the purchase of the aforesaid fire truck, applicable to Project No. 270-77-3, Fire Department Capital Equipment. SECTION 3. That Upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the public convenience and necessity of expediting ':the purchase of the said pumper truck, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voiing upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passeqtind shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this /el day of March, 1982.
