AN ORDINANCE
CLOSING A PORTION OF THE UTILITY EASEMENT IN LOT 1,
BLOCK 24, PHARAOH VALLEY NORTH UNIT 1; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, there exists a utility easement in Lot 1, Block 24,
Pharaoh Valley North Unit 1, as recorded in Volume 32, page 30, Nueces County
Map Records; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is feasible and advantageous
to the City of Corpus Christi to abandon a portion of said easement subject to
replatting of said Lot 1 at the expense of the property owner:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the hereinafter more fully described portion of
15 -foot utility easement in Lot 1, Block 24, Pharaoh Valley North Unit 1, as
recorded in Volume 32, page 30, Nueces County Map Records, be and the same is
hereby closed for public use and every municipal purpose, said purpose of
easement being described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point being the east corner of said Lot 1;
THENCE S 73 deg. 2055" W 70.00 feet to a point;
THENCE N 60 deg. 5720" W 47.14 feet to a point;
THENCE N 29 deg. 0240" E 15.00 feet to a point;
THENCE S 60 deg. 5720" E 40.83 feet to a point for an
interior corner;
THENCE N 73 deg. 2955" E 63.29 feet to a point on a
circular curve to the right;
THENCE along the arc of said curve, whose central angle
= 2 deg. 5244", radius = 298.56 feet, tangent = 7.50 feet,
a distance of 15.01 feet to the point of beginning.
Said closing and abandonment is subject, however, to replatting of the said
Lot 1, Block 24, by the owner, at owner's expense.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of.this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word

or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for
efficient administration of City affairs by abandoning the above described
portion of utility easement, such finding of an emergency is made and declared
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon
ordinances and resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance
is passVnd shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
