HomeMy WebLinkAbout16937 ORD - 03/10/19823-8-820st ;-, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, ' APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON TRACT A, IN THE NAME OF N.H. RANSLEBEN, AND TRACT B, IN THE NAME OF ALICE DUNN, SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, HDECES COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM "R-16" ONE FAMILY DWELLING DisTRICi TO "I-2" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of City of Corpus Christi for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper /6 notice to the public, said pu lic hearing having been held on Wednesday, 1,.. March.10, 1982 , at Regular Council Meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of record in Volume 9, pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, as amended from.time to time, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by making the change hereinafter set out. 1-6937 MICROFILMED w \VA - SECTION 2. That the zoning of Tract A, in the name of N. H. Ransleben, and Tract 6, in the name of Alice Dunn, situated in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, more fully described hereinafter, be and the same is hereby changed from "R-16" One Family Dwelling District to "I-2" Light Industrial District, said tracts being described as follows: Tract A Being a 1.53 acre tract, now or formerly in the name of Ransleben, located approximately 2,500 feet Southeast of Southern Minerals Road and abutting on the South right-of-way line of Up River Road,.said area being described more particularly by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point, the intersection of the East right-of-way line of Southern Minerals Road and the South right-of-way line of Up River Road; THENCE in an Easterly direction with the South line of said Up River Road, a distance of approximately 2,500 feet to a point, said point being the place of beginning and the Northwest corner of this tract; • THENCE in an Easterly direction with the South line of Up River Road, a distance of approximately 142.42 feet to a point, said point being the Northeast corner of this tract; • • THENCE in a Southerly direction with the East line of said 1.53 acre tract, a distance of approximately 518.24 feet to its Southeast corner thereof, in the Northeast right-of-way line of said railroad spur; THENCE in a Northwesterly direction, -with the South line of said 1.53 acre tract, a distance of approximately 172.72 feet to its Southwest corner thereof; THENCE in a Northerly direction with the West line of said 1.53 acre tract, a distance of approximately 448.24 feet to its Northwest corner thereof, in the South right-of-way line of said Up River Road to the POINT OF BEGINNING. • Containing 1.53 acres more or less. Tract B Being a 3.75 acre tract, now or formerly in the name of Alice Dunn, located approximately 3,300 feet Southeast of Southern Minerals Road and abutting on the South right-of-way line of Up River Road, said area being described more particularly by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point, the intersection of the East right -of -my line of Southern Minerals Road and the South right-of-way line of Up River Road; THENCE.in an Easterly direction with the South line of said Up River Road, a distance of approximately 3,300 feet to a point, said point being the point of beginning and the Northwest corner of this tract; THENCE in an Easterly direction with the South line of said Up River Road for a distance of approximately 190 feet to a point, said point being the Northeast corner thereof; _ THENCE in a Southerly direction with the East line oF said 3.75 acre tract, the West line of a 5.0 acre tract, now or formerly in the name of C. C. Grain Company, a total distance of approximately 890 feet to the South- east corner of said 3.75 acre tract in the North right-of-way line of a Missouri Pacific Railroad spur; . THENCE in a Northwesterly direction with the North line of said spur, for a distance of approximately 220 feet to a point, said point being the Southwest corner thereof THENCE in a Northerly direction with the East line of an 11.8 acre tract, now or formerly in the name of Tejas Gas Corporation, the West line of said 3.75 acre tract, a distance of approximately 830 feet to its Northwest corner thereof, in the South right-of-way line of said Up River Road to the POINT OF BEGINNING. Containing 3.75 acres more or less. . SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall teffect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 49 day of March , 1982.
