HomeMy WebLinkAbout16938 ORD - 03/10/19823-8-82;lst AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, " APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF AMEN THE G F c2ei, CRIS N Y CHANGING THE ZONING ONBY 1.8 ACRFS OUT OF THE HUMPHREY TRACT SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM "R-16" ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "I-2"LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of City of Corpus Christi for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, -March 10, 1982 • , at Regular Council Meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,:TEXAS': SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of record in Volume 9, pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, as amended from time td time, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by making the change hereinafter set out. sEp 2 8 1984 1:6938 MICROFILMED SECTION 2. That the zoning of the 1.8 acre tract out of the Humphrey Tract, more fully described hereinafter, be and the same is hereby changed from "R-16" One Family Dwelling District to "I-2" Light Industrial District, said tract or parcel .being described as follows: Being that area of 1.8 acres at the Northwest intersection of Interstate No. 37 and Nueces Bay Boulevard, and being out of the Humphrey Tract, and being nore particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: . BEGINNING at the intersection of the present City of Corpus Christi City Limit line in the Northeast line of Baymoor Addition recorded in Volume 4, Page 42, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas; and the most southerly Southeast line of Tract E, Pontiac Tracts, as shown in Map of'Record in Volume 31, Page 94, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas for the beginning corner of this description; THENCE'North 35°00'East, with said line of said Tract E, a distance of 98.42 feet to a paint; • _THENCE North 31°15'Easi, still with said line of said Tract E, a distance of 171.81 feet to a point, an interior corner of said Tract E, and a corner of this description; - • _..THENCE South 55053t West,with-the most hortherly Southwest line of said Tract E, -h distance of 300.38 feet to a point in the Northwest right-of-way line of said Nueces Bay Boulevard,"and in the present City Limit line of the City of Corpus Christi; . 1 " • THENCE in a Southwesterly direction with the present City Limit line and with the Northwest right-of-way line of Nueces Bay Boulevard a distance of approx- imately 220 feet to its intersection with the North right-of-way line of Interstate 'Highway No. 37; THENCE in a Northwesterly direction with the present City Limits line, a distance of approximately 300 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. • Containing 1.8 acres of land more or less. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time.to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly.repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall le effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the A, day of March , 1982.
