AMENDING SECTION 57-251 MAXIMUM WRECKER SERVICE AND
STORAGE FEES OF THE CITY CODE BY INCREASING FEES;
ADDING SECTION 57-252 NOTIFICATION TO PERMIT HOLDERS
OF PENDING CHANGES IN PERMIT REGULATIONS; AND AMENDING
SECTIONS 13-49 (1), 13-49 (2), AND 53-60 TO INCREASE
FEES; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL, PUBLICATION, AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi City Code be amended by
amending Section 57-251 to hereafter read as follows:
Section 57-251 Maximum Wrecker Service and Storage Fees
The maximum fees to be charged for a wrecker dispatched
under the rotation system provided for in this article
for the towing and storage of disabled vehicles are as
follows:
Category A.Wreckers
Collision haul or normal tow $35.00
Use of dollies 20.00.
Winching for removal of a vehicle from a ditch,
righting an overturned vehicle or for similar
unusual circumstances. 15.00
Total maximum towing fee including a collision
haul or normal tow and additional labor as
itemized above 65.00
Additional fee for each hour or portion thereof
at the scene in excess of one hour 15.00
Category B Wrecker
Collision haul or normal tow for first hour
at the scene 75.00
Each additional hour or portion thereof at the
scene not caused by delay on part of the
Permittee 50.00
Storage Fees
Vehicles with rated capacity of one ton or less
according to manufacturer's rating (included
but not necessarily limited to passenger cars
and pickup trucks up to and including one ton)
Vehicles with rated capacity in excess of one
ton according to manufacturer's rating
4,00 per day
8.00 per day
The PerMittee shall attach to a copy of each customer
invoice'for services rendered under the rotating system
established by this article', a form showing the maximum

fees allowed to be charged for such services under the
provisions of this article. The forms to be attached
to the customer invoices shall be provided by the City.
Failure to attach said forms to said invoices shall be
cause for revocation of an auto wrecker permit.
The maximum fees to be charged for the towing and
storage of an impounded vehicle are those established
by Section 13-49 (1), Section 13-49 (2), Section 53-60
(2), and Section 53-60 (3) of the Code of Ordinances,
City of Carpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That a new section, numbered 57-252, be added to
the City Code, to hereafter read as follows:
Section 57-252. Notification to Permit Holders of Pending
Changes in Permit Regulations.
Holders of permits under Article V of this Chapter of the City
Code shall be notified by the City of Corpus Christi of any
pending changes in Article V,:
SECTION 3. That subparagraph 2 of Section 53-60 be amended by
changing the amount of the towing fee from $25 to $35, and that subparagraph
3 of Section 53-60 be amended by changing the $2 storage fee therein to $4
for vehicles impounded under authority of the police division.
SECTION 4. That Section 13-49, subsection 1, be amended by
changing the $25 charge to $35 when taking and impounding personal property,
where a wrecker is necessary, if performed by the police division, and amending
subsection 2 by changing the $2 storage fee to $4.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect from and Ilfter its
passage and publication.
'SECTION 7. Publication shall be made in the official publication.
