AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937,
APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ
OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED
FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF
LANTANA CORPORATION BY
AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON
A PORTION OF LOT 37 H.B. SHEPPARD FARM LOTS
SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY,
TEXAS, FROM "R -1B" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT
TO 1-2 LIGHI INDUS1RIAL DISTRI
KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING
ORDINANCE AS AMENDED;. REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City
Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application
of Lantana Corporation
for amendment to the zoning map of the City -of Corpus Christi; "
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before
the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper
notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on

Council Meeting
of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of
Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was
decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth
amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and
the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of fhe City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of
record in Volume 9, pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution
Records, as amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by
Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by
making the change hereinafter set out.

SECTION 2. That the hereinafter described tract or parcel of
lond described as a portion of Lot 37, H.B. Sheppard Farm Lots, situated in the.
City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and the same is hereby rezoned from
"R-16" One -family Dwelling District to "I-2" Light Industrial District:
FIELDNOTES for 5.00 acres of land out of Lot 37 of the H. B.
Sheppard Farm Lots, a map of which is recorded in Volume A, Page 52,
Hap Records of Nueces County, Texas; said 5.00 acre tract being also
a part of State Survey 311, Abstract 816,in Nueces County, Texas

BEGINNING at a concrete right-of-way marker with a brass disc
found at the point of intersect.ion of the North right-of-way line of
Interstate Highway No. 37 and the East subdivision line of Tuloso Road
:subdivision, a map of which is recorded in Volume 13, Page 23 of said

THENCE North, along the East subdivision line of TulosO Road Sub -
.division, 405.33 feet to a 2 inch iron pipe found for the Southwest
corner of a 6-00 acre tract of land conveyed to P. Ward Steinback by
E. J. Equipment Company, Inc., by deed recorded in Volume 904, Pages
496, 497, 498 of the Deed Records of Nueces County, Texas, and the
Northwest corner of this survey;

.THENCE South 66!16'00"EaSt, along.the South boundary line of said
acre tract, 530.00 feet to a 1 inch iron pipe found for the South -
corner of said 6.00 acre tract and the Northeast corner of this

right -of, -way line of Interstate Highway No. 37 for the Southeast corner
of this survey;
. THENCE North 68'33'05" West, with said right-of-way, 107.41 feet to
a concrete right-of-way monument .found for an angle point and a corner
. of this survey;
THENCE North 63'06'30" West, with the continuation of said 'right-of-
way, 500.62 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as
amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in
full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due
to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting
the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration
and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings
so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect up n first
reading as an emergency measure this the /7 day of , 19

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or,resolution finally on the date it is,
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
