ESTABLISHING NEW RATES FOR CITY'S INTRASTATE CHARTER
BUS SERVICE PROVINDING FOR PUBLICATIOX,AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the cost of providing City intrastate charter bus service,
including operators' salaries and bus maintenance,.has increased substantially
since August, 1980; and
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi is desirous of amending its
rate schedule to be comparable with the tariff established by the Texas Railroad
Commission:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the rate schedule for charter service for equipment
with restroom service be and the same is hereby adopted at the rate as shown on
the attached schedule, beginning with line 5, "39 passengers," which Table is
incorporated herein the same as if written herein for all Corpus Christi Transit
service out-of-town charter service equipment with restroom service.
SECTION 2. That the rate schedule for charter service for equipment
without restroom service be and the same is hereby adopted at the rate shown on
the attached schedule, beginning with line 1, "35 passengers or less," which
Table is incorporated herein the same as if written herein for all Corpus Christi
Transit service out-of-town charter service for equipment without restroom
service.
SECTION 3. That Section 2, Item (c) of Ordinance No. 9864, passed
and approved by the City Council on July 29, 1970, as amended by Ordinances
10853, 11794, 12366, 13182, 13729, 14475 and 15692 be amended to hereafter
include the rate schedule attached to and made a part of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective April 1, 1982.
SECTION 6. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption of this
ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
SECTION 7. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for

providing additional income for the City's Transit System, such finding of
an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as' to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed nd shall take effect upon first
reading as an emergency measure this day of March, 1982.

the following charges will be added to the charges shown for forty-seven (47)
passengers, for each additional passengers:

Maximum 24 Hour Time Charge $5.00

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it i$
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
