AUTHORIZING CONTRACT WITH Z & R ROOFING COMPANY FOR
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE HIALCO CENTER ROOF AND APPROPRIATING
$23,000 FOR SAID PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a
contract with Z & R Roofing Company for improvements to the Hialco Center
Roof, al) as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract
documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are
made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Z & R Roofing
Company, opened on the 10th day of March, 1982, said bid being the lowest
and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $23,000
out of the 7th Year Community Development Block Grant, No. 162 Federal/States
Grant Fund, DepartMent No. 152, Activity 807.05, Code 502, of which $18,793
is for the construction contract and $4,207 is for additional engineering,
legal advertising and contingency expenses.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, c6py attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the
need for preserving public property by executing the above contract and
expediting construction of necessary improvements, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this a;14 day of March, 1982.

an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
