HomeMy WebLinkAbout16966 ORD - 03/24/1982AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PLATTING ORDINANCE, NO. 4168, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION IV - DESIGN STANDARDS, SUBSECTION E, LOTS, PARAGRAPH 2, SUBPARAGRAPHS (a) AND (b), TO PROVIDE FOR SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL LOTS WITH A MINIMUM SIZE OF 4,500 SQUARE FEET; AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section IV DESIGN STANDARDS, Subsection E. Lots, paragraph 2, subparagraphs (a) and (b), of the Platting Ordinance. No. 4168, as amended, be amended to hereafter read as follows: (a) Residential lots where served by public sewer shall be not less than forty-five (45) feet wide at the building line nor less than forty-five hundred (4500) square feet in area and shall abut a public street for a continuous distance of not less than thirty-five (35) feet. (b) Residential lots where not served by public sewer shall be not less than forty-five (45) feet wide at the building line and shall not have less than thirty-five (35) feet of continuous public street frontage nor have an area less' than that prescribed for health and sanitation purposes under Section V, B, 6 b. Such lots shall be laid out keeping in mind the possibility of resubdivision at such time as sanitary sewer service might become available. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by amending the Platting Ordinance to enable construction of residential properties on smaller lots, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 24th day of March, 1982.
