AMENDING THE 1981-82 FIRE PREVENTION BUDGET TO
CHANGE JOB CLASSIFICATIONS OF FIRE INSPECTOR I
TO FIRE INSPECTOR II AND FIRE INSPECTOR II TO
FIRE LIEUTENANT AS VACANCIES OCCUR; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the 1981-82 Fire Prevention Budget, Activity No.
221-516.61, be amended by changing the job- classifications of Fire
Inspector I to Firefighter II and Fire Inspector II to Fire Lieutenant
as vacancies occur in the Fire Inspector I and Fire Inspector II job
classifications.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due
to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by amending the
Fire Prevention Budget to provide for upgrading of the described classifica-
tions when and as vacancies occur, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that
this ordinance is passed and shall take ef ct upon first reading as an
emergency measure this the ,..:91/ day of , 1982.

an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it •1
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
