AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937,
APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ
OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED
FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF
MR. AND MRS. JOE MULANAX BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP
BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON LOT 12, BLOCK 1, CARROLL
PLACE #7 AND THE EAST 132 FEET OF LOT 5, SECTION 2,
SHARE 8, BOHEMIAN COLONY LAND, SITUATED IN THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS FROM "R-16"
ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "R-2" MULTIPLE DWELL-
ING DISTRICT KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS
OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council
its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Mulanax for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice
to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday, March 31,
1982 , at Regular Council Meeting of the City Council in the Council
Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was
decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth
amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and
the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of
record in Volume 9, pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution
Records, as amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by
Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by
making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning of Lot 12, Block 1, Carroll Place
#7 and the hereinafter more fully described east 132 feet of Lot 5,
Section 2, Share 8, Bohemian Colony Lands, be changed from "R-16"
One family dwelling district to "R-2" multiple Dwelling District:

12, Block 1, Carroll Place Unit 7, a map of which is recorded in Volume
40, Page 191, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas and out of Lot 5,
Section 2, Bohemian Colony Lands, a map of which is recorded in Volume
A, Page 48 of said Map Records:
BEGINNING at a point on the Northwest right-of-way of Carroll
Lane for the East corner of said Lot 12, Block 1 and the East corner
of this tract:
• THENCE South 29°00100" West, along the aforementioned North-
west right-of-way, 330.00 feet, more or less, for the South corner of
said Lot 12, Block 1, and a corner of this tract:
THENCE North 61°30'00" West, along the common lot line of said
Lot 12 and Lots 11 and 10, Block 1 of said Carroll Place Unit 7,
264.00 feet, more or less, for the common rear corner of said Lots
10 and 12 and an inside corner of this tract;
THENCE South 29°00'00" West 330.00 feet, more or less, to a
point on the existing Northeast right-of-way of Holly Road for a corner
of this tract;
THENCE North 61°30'00" West, along said Northeast right-of-
way parallel to the centerline thereof and 20.00 feet distant there-
from, measured at right angles thereto, 132.00 feet, more or less,
for the West corner of this tract;
THENCE North 29°00'00" East 660.00 feet, more or less, for
the North corner of this tract;
THENCE South 61°30'00" East 396.00 feet, more or less, for
the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as
amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in
full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due
to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting
the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration
and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings
so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading
as an emergency measure this the 31st day of March, 1982.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
