AMENDING THE ZONING OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937,
APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET
SEQ OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS
AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS
AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON
APPLICATION OF LEE A. KELLY BY AMENDING THE
ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON 1.624
ACRES OUT OF THE THOMAS GALLAGHER 400 ACRE SURVEY
402, ABSTRACT 988 SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM "R -1B"
ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "I-2" LIGHT
INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER
PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City
Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of
Lee A. Kelly for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearingall persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before
the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper
notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday,
April 7, 1982, at Regular Council Meeting of the City Council in the Council
Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was
decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth
amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and
the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of
record in Volume 9, pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution
Records, as amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by
making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning of the hereafter described 1.624
acre tract be changed from "R-16" One -Family Dwelling District to "I-2"

Being a parcel or tract of land consisting of 1.624
acres, more or less, of land out of the Thomas
Gallagher 400 acres Survey 402, Abstract 988
(reference deed Volume 209, Page 587, Nueces County)
deed records), Nueces County, Texas:
BEGINNING at a point on the East right-of-way of
Clarkwood South Road (F.M. Road 2292) for the
Southwest corner of this tract from which corner
the Southwest corner of said Survey 402 bears South
89°2800" West 50.00 feet, more or less, thence
South 00°32'00" East 2,100.77 feet, more or less;
THENCE North 00'3200" West, along said East right-
of-way, 3.00 feet, more or less, for the point of
curvature of a circular,curve to the left whose
radius point bears South 89'2800" West 1,005.00
feet and which has a central angle of 06'24'02,
a radius of 1,005.00 feet, a tangent distance of
56.19 feet and an arc length of 112.27 feet;
THENCE, along said circular curve to the left,
112.27 feet, more or less, for the point of tangency
and the Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE North 89'22'00" East, leaving the afore-
mentioned East right-of-way, 450.07 feet, more or
less, for the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE South 00'4300" East 205.05 feet, more or
less, for the Southeast corner of this tract;
*THENCE South 89'22'00" West 212.43 feet, more or
less, for a corner of this tract;
THENCE North 00'43'00" East 90.00 feet, more or
less, for an inside corner of this tract;
THENCE South 89'22'00" West 232.78 feet, more or
less, for the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as
amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in
full force and effect.
• SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of thesMayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to
the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the
aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration
and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that
this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an
emergency measure this the 7th day of April, 1982.

an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings; 1/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it iS
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
