HomeMy WebLinkAbout16991 ORD - 04/14/1982*t044, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 16490, WHICH ADOPTED THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN THE NUECES COUNTY COURTHOUSE AREA, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE TO ADOPT FINAL AND CORRECTED ASSESSMENT ROLL: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 16490, passed and approved on . August 262.1981, be amended by amending Section 3 of said ordinance so As to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting property owners on the following streets: Nueces County Courthouse Area 1. Comanche Street, from North Staples Street to Carancahua Street, 2. Artesian Street, from Lipan Street to Blucher Street, 3. Carrizo Street, from Lipan Street to Blucher Street, and 4. Lipan Street, from North Staples Street to Carancahua Street. as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need of adopting the final assessment roll as aforesaid so that the street improve- ment'project can proceed, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed a d shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the / day of April, 1982. Comanche Street, from North Staples Street to Caranachua Street, 2. Artesian Street, from Lipan Street to Blucher Street, 3. Carrizo Street, from Lipan Street to Blucher Street, and 4. Lipan Street, from North Staples Street to Caranachua Street. These streets shall be excavated to a width and depth to permit the laying of a standard curb and gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 8" compacted caliche base and 11/2" Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete pavement. The streets will be 38 or 40 feet wide within the existing right-of-way. There will be reinforced concrete sidewalks, 4 or 5 feet in width and 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways as shown on the plans or where requested by property owners. Concrete retaining walls wilI be constructed where required. Lipan Street improvements will consist of a 11/2" Type "D" Hot Mix overlay for which no assessment will be levied. The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest paving policy of the City.
