AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER
NO. 2 TO THE CONTRACT WITH KING CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR
THE SWANTER PARK PARKING LOT PROJECT; APPROPRIATING
$13,370.75 FOR THE SAID PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS.CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute Change Order No. 2 to the contract with King Construction Company
for the Swantner Park Parking Lot, Project No. 291-77-3.1, which provides
for paving improvements to repair Hurricane Allen damage to the approach
area of the Oso Boat Ramp on Ocean Drive near the Naval Air Station, a
substantial copy of said Change Order being attached hereto and made a
part hereof.
- SECTION 2. That there is hereby transferred the sum of $13,370.75
out of the No. 102 General Fund Reserv, Department 901, Activityis
521.99, Code 499 to the Park Bond FunCI Project No. 291-77-3.1, and there
is appropriated the_said sum in Project No. 291-77-3.1 The General
Fund will be reimbursed by the Texas Park and Wildlife Department from
a FEMA grant.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need
for efficient administration of City affairs by authorizing the aforesaid
Change Order and appropriation of funds therefor, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule
as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three
regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergendy measure this A/ day of April,
i9,2.
