HomeMy WebLinkAbout17014 ORD - 04/28/1982lw:4-26-82;1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY CHANGING THE ZONING MAP IN REFERENCE TO LOTS 27, 28, 29 AND 30, BLOCK 6, STEELE ADDITION FROM "I-2" LIGHT INDUS1RIAL DISTRICT TO "R-18" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISiRiLi; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of the City of Corpus Christi for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; _ WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held en April 28, 1982, at Regular Council•Meeting of the City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and -carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning of the south 35 feet of Lots 27, 28, 29, and 30, Block 6, Steele Addition more fully described here- -7, inafter, be and the same is hereby changed from "I-2" Light Industrial . _ District to "R-18" One -family Dwelling District described as:Follows: A 0.0688 acre tract of land out of Lots 27, 28, 29, and 30, Block 6, Steele Addition as shown on Map of Record in Book 2, Page 49, Nueces County Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, being more particularly described by met m and bounds as follows: COMMENCING at a point, the Northwest corner of said Lot 30, the point of intersection of the South right-of-way line of Agnes Street and the East right-of-way line of Bluntzer Street; 17014 •‘. SEP 4Zi 1984 MICROFILMED - "3 THENCE in a Southerly direction along the East right-of-way line of Bluntzer Street a distance of of 100 feet to the Northwest corner of this tract for the Point of Beginning; THENCE continuing in a southerly direction along said East right-of-way line of Bluntzer Street a distance of 35 feet to the Southwest corner of said Lot 30, a point on the North boundary line of a 10 foot wide dedicated alley, for the South- west corner of this tract; THENCE in a Westerly direction along the North boundary line of said 10 foot wide dedicated alley (a Southerly line common to said Lots 27, • 28, 29 and 30) a distance of 100 feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot 27 for the Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE in a Northerly direction along the East boundary line of said Lot 27 a distance of 35 feet to a point for the Northeast corner of this tract; THENCE in a Westerly direction, with a line. 35 feet from and parallel to the North boundary line of said 10 foot wide dedicated alley, across said Lots 27, 28, 29 and 30, a distance of 100 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five - Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for the immediate and equitable institution of zoning changes _ to promote the health, safety and economic development.of the City,such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of - the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolu- tions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the2irday of , 1982.
